Implementing and administering the Australian Government’s HomeBuilder Grant has been one of this year’s most significant pieces of work for the State Revenue Office.
While initial Australian Department of Treasury (DoT) modelling predicted Victoria would receive approximately 8000 applications, we received 39,336 — the most of any state or territory. Of these, 6531 were for renovations and 32,805 were for new builds.
Not only did our expert staff take a lead liaison role with DoT and other states and territories, we developed an innovative online customer portal to receive applications. Now being used by another five states and territories, it makes the application process convenient and streamlined on a digital platform.
A key feature of the portal is that applicants are not required to provide all supporting documents when submitting their application, but instead can upload them as construction milestones are achieved.
