Each year, millions of dollars are lodged in the Victorian Unclaimed Money Register, including share dividends, salaries and wages, rents and bonds, debentures and interest, unpresented cheques and trust money.
We also hold unclaimed winnings from Tattslotto, Intralot and TAB tickets bought in Victoria that have remained unclaimed for six months or more.
In 2020–21, we reunited $11.4 million with rightful owners via 15,241 claims against the Unclaimed Money Register.
Following a Victoria-wide media campaign at the end of the 2019–20, which encouraged Victorians to search the register, we saw a $2.7 million (31%) increase in unclaimed money returned to rightful owners this year.
